Compression wear is tight fitting clothing that improves the performance of your body before, during and after exercise. Your body responds to "being compressed" by pumping the blood stronger, which improves circulation and increases flow of oxygen and nutrients into your muscles. As a result your body will perform better, for longer.
Before Exercise: Keep Warm
- Wearing compression wear prior to exercise keeps the muscles warm and in a state of readiness. This allows your body to react quickly to your warm-up activities so it gets the maximum benefit from the exercise ahead.
During Exercise: Stay Dry
- Normally when you sweat, it soaks into your clothes and makes them hang off you like wet rags. The purpose of sweat is to regulate your body temperature, and to do this it must stay against your skin.
- Compression wear becomes a second skin, holding the sweat against your body and away from your other clothes. Here it will keep your body temperature under control, and actually reduce the amount you sweat - keeping you hydrated for longer.
After Exercise: Intensify
- Wearing compression clothing after exercise keeps the blood pumping, removing lactic acid and other bi-products from your system faster. This drastically reduces muscle soreness and recovery time, allowing you to supercharge your exercise schedule.
Keep it Out of Sight
- Most compression wear on the market has a very high neckline for maximum compression efficiency. But unless you wear turtle-neck tops to work, your compression wear will be seen! And it's worse for martial artists, with low-neckline uniforms plus visible forearms and ankles.
- We have addressed this with our Intensify range of skin tight compression clothing. With a low neckline, short sleeves and pants our compression wear cannot be seen under most martial arts uniforms, or normal clothes. This does reduce the surface area being compressed, but allows you to wear it all the time.
